Brazilian Pine Furniture for European Retailers

Brazil is the world's third-largest furniture exporter, and Brazilian pine furniture has been supplying European retailers for decades. The combination of FSC-certified plantation wood, skilled manufacturing capacity, and competitive pricing makes Brazil a natural sourcing partner for European furniture buyers. This guide covers everything a European retailer or importer needs to know before placing a first order.

Quality control
Every production run includes:
- Pre-production sample approval — digital photos of finished pieces before container loading, sent for buyer confirmation
- Finish inspection — colour, texture, and hardware checked against approved sample
- Dimensional check — key dimensions confirmed on random panels from each batch
- Packaging inspection — carton integrity and protection materials confirmed before loading
For first orders, we strongly recommend a pre-shipment inspection report (third-party, at buyer's cost) before container sealing.

Common questions from European buyers
Is assembly hardware included? Yes — all collections ship with pre-packaged hardware and multi-language assembly instructions.
Can I mix collections in one container? Yes — subject to minimum quantities per collection (typically 2–4 pieces per SKU). Our export team optimises the container configuration.
Do you supply bar codes and retail-ready labels? On request for established buyers. Minimum volume applies.
What is the reorder lead time? Repeat orders for the same collection and finish typically carry a 35–50 day production lead time (less than new product development).
Import duties for EU buyers
Brazil benefits from the EU's Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP). Furniture from Brazil (HS chapter 94) enters the EU at 0% duty under GSP — compared to the standard MFN rate of 0–5.6% depending on product type. This preference applies automatically when the exporter provides an EUR.1 Movement Certificate or a Statement on Origin, issued by EBP at time of export. Confirm at order stage that GSP documentation will be included — without it, MFN duty applies.
UK buyers note: the UK also extends 0% GSP on Brazilian furniture under the UK DCTS (Developing Countries Trading Scheme), replacing the EU GSP post-Brexit. The same EUR.1 certificate structure applies. Verify the current UK preferential tariff code with your customs broker at time of import.
